Swiss Agency for Development and Co-operation (SDC) and FINCA organized the handover ceremony of Woman Finance Project in Pristina.
In this ceremony among the attendees were also present the representatives of local and international agencies and government offices, including the media representatives.
The opening speech was done from the side of Director of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Kosova Mr.Mirko Manzoni. Then Ms. Blerta Qerimi, coordinator of Association of Microfinance Institution in Kosovo have presentation about the MFI development in Kosovo. At the end Chief Operations Officer of FINCA Kosovo Mr. Engyl Pallusha had final speech where he made the overview of Woman Finance Project in Kosovo.
With this project SDC has supported the implementation of the Woman Finance Project in cooperation with FINCA Kosovo as an implementing partner. This project’s target was financing woman enterpreneurs to start up new businesses and improve existing ones.
This project was successfully implemented by FINCA Kosovo from 01.01.2004 to 31.12.2006 Since the implementation up to the 31 December 2006, FINCA Kosovo disbursed 2,024 loans with value 1,909,600. The whole amount of loans has been distributed to women from diffrent ethnic backgrounds.
