Mr. Shkumbin Maksutaj has over 15 years of experience in the banking and microfinance sectors. He began his career in the banking industry, where for nearly four years he held roles in Credit Risk Management, followed by more than two years in Operational Risk Management.

In 2016, he joined FINCA Kosovo as Chief Risk Officer, where he established and led the Risk Management Department. During this period, he played a key role in rebuilding the internal control function, contributing to the advancement of systems and strengthening the institution’s control environment.

In August 2025, Mr. Maksutaj was appointed to the role of Chief Operations Officer.
In terms of academic background, Mr. Maksutaj completed his undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Economics, University of Prishtina, majoring in Banking and Finance (2008). In 2015, he earned a Master of Science in Banking and Finance from City College, University of Sheffield.

In addition to his professional and academic experience, Mr. Maksutaj holds a number of important certifications in Risk Management, Corporate Governance, and Compliance, and has also completed the internal leadership development program “Falcon.”
